From what I know of this error it seems to occur because of a bad connection between the contacts of the memory card and of the camera. Because of this the fixes that I provide attempt to fix a possible contact issue. I recommend that you try the card in a memory card reader (you can buy one for very cheap) before attempting the fix in order to get your pictures off first.
Fix One:
Find yourself a pencil with an eraser at the end. Take the memory stick and rub the gold contacts gently with the eraser. Do this for 20-30 seconds until you’ve covered the entire surface of the contacts. Then insert the card into the camera, switch to “setup” mode and turn the camera on. This should turn off the error message.
The person I heard this fix from recommends you then format the card using the cameras format command.
Fix Two:
We will try to make sure that there is a proper connection between the contacts on the memory card and the camera. To do this remove and insert the memory stick several times over. Some recommend 5, 10, and even 20 times. The point is to get that card to align properly.
Fix Three:
Try to wiggle the card until the error disappears. This should restore contact.
Fix Four:
There are tabs on some cameras that guide the card into the slot. Bend these just the slightest bit towards each other in order to get the card to fit firmly into the slot. Be careful with this step in order to avoid breaking or otherwise damaging the tabs.

HELP..I have a sony W730..I recorded a converrt tonight using a Dan Disc 32G memory card..Everything was going fine… and toward the end of the show I got a c13:01 ERROR. The disc would not record anymore..I inserted the card several times and also performed ALL the cleaning (alcohol, reinserting 30 times, holdinfg the memory card, etc) nothing works,, I inserted a DIFFERENT 1GB card which already had data on it from another camera into the Sony W730 and the card read fine and the files already on it transferred. That means the issue is the actaul 32GB SAN DISC card actually “failed” during recording.
Inserting the card multiple times does nothing -the message I get is IMAGE DATABASE FILE ERROR CANNOT RECOVER> I seont a LOT of money on the ticket to the concert last night and recorded most of it in true HD close up…. Is there any way I can still get the video off the card?
I inserted the card directly into laptop and it will NOT recognize or read…it acts DEAD. Tjis is not a card I have used often..(same with the camera).I did NOT drop the camera nor the card…. and since inserting a different card the camera works…the issue is directly in the 2 Sandisc card… Is there anything I can do to access the video files?
Hi everybody!

Sony cyber-shot model- DSC – H100 . Thanks Fred
my DSC-w220 and i have a C:13:01 error. Thanks to Romeo for giving the Artsybelle Blogspot link. one of her fixes worked for me. that is the “Turning off the camera first and then sliding the memory card up the slot to the max until there is no room left to push, and then just hold the memory card up like that and then turn ON the camera, when its turned on slowly let go of the memory card until you here that clicking sound. and after doing that the c;13;01 error was gone. I also blew the memory card slot multiple times before doing her advice.
how to fix C:13:01 error in Mc 2500 Hd video camera?
How to fix C:13:01 error?
Step 1-turn on camera and press menu button,
Step 2-go to settings(mostly at very bottom, below camera guide) press OK,
Step 3-scroll down to option(Memory Card Tool)
Step 4-go to format,press OK(it would take a while)
Step 5-after format turn off camera then turn it on again,it may deny the error,
If these steps do not work take camera to nearest service station.
My Canon EOS 300 D screen is saying “No Image”. As I press the button the flash tries to come on..then nothing happens.
What can be wrong?
Battery is fully charged.
I used the camera a few days before & it was working perfectly.
After using the eraser trick, nothing. I tried pushing the memory stick in and out, nothing I blew out the stick hole nothing. turned it off pushing all the way in and turning it on, nothing……. I pored very lil mouth wash on Q-tip… cleaned conectors on memory stick. did the trick. yay…… I first I thought it was the battery I bought two brand new ones.. about 6.00 each………. I Win. how much?
